BIOINDICATORS – THE INDICATORS OF THE STATE AND QUALITY OF THE ENVIRONMENT. LIVING ORGANISMS DETERMINE THE ENVIRONMENT.

The article is devoted to bioindicators – organisms or parts of organisms that clearly reflect impacts of some environmental factors. Therefore they can be used as indicators of the state and the quality of the environment. Microorganisms, cyanobacteria and algae (water bio-monitoring) as well as lichens and coniferous trees (air bio-monitoring) can be used, for example, as bioindicators.
