On Friday, 22 September, the symbolic event “A Day without Cars” for the first time took place in 8 Slovak towns (Prešov, Košice, Liptovský Mikuláš, Lučenec, Martin, Nitra, Trenčín and Bratislava). This action was organised by the European Commission in co-operation with NGOs in 822 European towns. Five Slovak NGOs drew attention to unbearable situation in transport and expressed their support to environmental friendly and safer transport means.
