Cultural - Historical and Natural Potential of the Tatra National Park’s (TANAP) Landscape and its Revitalisation The main objective of the territorial plan is to achieve concord of all activities in the territory with a special emphasis on the preservation of natural, civilisation and cultural values. According to the Regulation of the Slovak Government No. 269/1998 “on the territory of national parks, protected landscape areas and their protective zones as well as in the protected landscape areas under preparation it is necessary to preserve the typical structure of the landscape and, in case of new construction and reconstruction, to respect traditional architecture and limit the mass of buildings from the point of view of landscape formation”. An expert approach is necessary to further develop this regulation. Therefore the District Office in Poprad asked the Slovak Environmental Agency’s Centre for Spatial Development to work out the document “Binding Directives for Urban and Architecture Works on the TANAP´s territory and its Protective Zone”. The project is being implemented in 39 TANAP´s localities of different historical, urban and architecture quality. |
