According to geographic and other conditions two forms of settlements have developed in the White Carpathians Protected Landscape Area (PLA). The first one is the settlement concentrated in villages deep in valleys. Their isolation resulted in the origination of characteristic local architectural and construction elements of houses and farm buildings. Isolated settlements form the second form. The Administration of the White Carpathians PLA has started the detailed processing of characteristic regional features of the original rural architecture as the basis for new constructional activities in the given territory in order to preserve its specific character.
