The increasing universal significance of landscape ecological planning not only in the experimental sphere but also in relation to legal standards (Act No. 237/2000 Coll.) became a part of the land planning process. The Slovak Environmental Agency responded to this trend very promptly and has established the Centre for the Landscape Ecological Planning with the seat in Prešov. One of its main initial activities will be the development of input database for landscape ecological plans processing on various levels by means of the LANDEP method.
