Accidents in chemical industry represent serious threats for chemical companies’c workers, general public and the environment outside the company. The Act No. 261/2002 Coll. On the prevention of major industrial accidents and on the amendments of some acts is the basis of the comprehensive programme of prevention and preparedness for accidents. The Act follows from the Council Directive 96/82/EC – SEVESO II and guaranties the comprehensive implementation of EU directives in the field of industrial pollution and risk management.
