Ministry of the Environment of the Slovak Republic (MoE), in order to stimulate activities for the support of sustainable development, launched the ENVIROJAR' 99 (Envirospring' 99) project that started on the 22nd April by the Earth Day and culminated by the World Environment Day on the 5th June. The idea gained support not only of state bodies and cultural facilities but also of entrepreneurs, NGOs, etc. ENVIROJAR' 99 consisted of many workshops, discussions, exhibitions, competitions and international meetings. Enviro Nitra,  Nature protection in caricatures,  Green World – the 2nd International Biennial of Children's and Youth's Drawings, Exhibition of the MoE and its organizations, the seminar Support to the Sustainable Development and the workshop Management of Cultural Landscape are classed among the most important. ENVIROJAR' 99  culminated by ENVIROFILM - the 5th International Festival of Films, TV and Video Programmes on Nature and Environment Protection and Improvement within which the seminar Environmental Education – Ecologization of of Public Awareness took place with the participation of the Ministers of the Environment of the Visegrad Group. The Ministers' meeting ended by the common proclamation of mutual cooperation.
