Matej Bel University was established on the 1 July 1992. With 9 faculties it represents a stabilised university belonging to the largest in the Slovak Republic. At present, it provides education to future teachers, economists, lawyers, financiers, diplomats, philologists etc. in full-time, external and post-graduate forms of study. Individual study branches with 750 university teachers create good conditions for the education of more 15 000 students. Matej Bel University is a recognised educational and scientific institution also in abroad. It participates in grant projects, organises various scientific conferences and seminars.
