Slovak Environment Agency (SEA)

SEA is a cross-cutting professional organisation of the Ministry of Environment of the Slovak Republic with a national scope.

SEA was established by the Slovak Minister of Environment´s Decision dated May 17th, 1993.

Since 2005, the SEA has guaranteed the quality of offered services while using an installed system of integrated management that includes a quality management system in accordance with EN ISO 9001 and an environmental management system in accordance with EN ISO 14001.

SEA's Mission and Activities

SEA FULFILS ITS MISSION AND TASKS THROUGH ITS DIRECTORATES AND WORKPLACES

DIRECTORATE FOR ENVIRONMENT AND PROJECT MANAGEMENT

The main scope of its activity is aimed at providing specialised sectoral environmental protection, environmental science development, securing reporting obligations, international cooperation development, project management and implementation at the national and international level.

DIRECTORATE FOR EUROPEAN UNION FUNDS

This directorate performs tasks arising from the SEA’s role as an Intermediary body for the Operational Programme Environment and the Operational Programme Quality of the Environment.  The Directorate for European Union Funds is also involved in carrying out the tasks of the transnational cooperation programme for the Operational Programme Central Europe and the Operational Programme South-East Europe.

DATACENTRE

Departmental Centre of Environmental Data and Information Services (Datacentre) fulfils specific tasks by integrating the SEA’s environmental data, as well as those of the Ministry of Environment of the Slovak Republic.
