The Central Slovakia Museum-Banská Bystrica, seating in the Tyhany Castle-Radvaň, prepared "the Exhibition of Natural Remarkablenesses in Banská Bystricai".The exhibiton is the result of long-time work of museum specialists since 1953.
Visitors can see remarkablenesses of the organic and anorganic nature in Banská Bystrica and around it on 16 panels and in 12 glass cases.
There are samples of rocks which show the extraordinary varied compound of Banská Bystrica, pictures of plants and three-dimensional preparations of animals from Central Slovakia Museum collections.Rare species and landscape shots are documented by colorful pictures. The essential part of the exhibition is devoted to the presence of thermophilic species on the territory of Banská Bystrica, which got here by the river Hron from the southern parts. Here, many of them have the northern border of their extention in Europe.
Visitors can learn a lot of new information about the river Hron, the hill Urpín, the Laskomer Valley and about other well-known places in and around Banská Bystrica.
The exhibition is aimed at general public and it lasts from 2nd June to 31st July,1997.
The Slovak Environmental Agency is the special guarantor.
