Green Discussions Started
The meeting, intents on the state of the environment of the region Bansk Bystrica-Slia-Zvolen, met with a great concern. In the panel discussion the questions were answered by:
- Ing. Jozef Zlocha, Minister of the Environment
- Ing. Miroslav Toncik, Director of SAZP
- MUDr. Eleonora Fabianova, Directress of the State Specialized Health Institute in Bansk Bystrica
The meeting started with the problems of atmosphere, because the Bansk Bystrica surroundings on account of unsuitable climatic conditions has serious problems. The big problem is transport, because of large car increase, which pollutes our environment. Minister Jozef Zlocha can see a definite way out in using unleaded gasoline / Slovnaft products/ and in the construction of traffic nets outside dwelling zones.
In the future it is planned to create a Governmental Council for pernamently keeping environmental development, which plans to elaborate a programme for Slovakia, regions and districts. The programme should contain 132 indicators more than 50 of them aimed at the environment.
They continued with the discussions about environmental problems in economy changing, new waste amendment and about law dealing with covers. The participanps of the panel discussion were talking about secondary raw material, unfavourable consequences of mining and other risk factors influencing people's health.
